Pomelo
The design of the Pomelo furniture showroom is based around the need for flexible display and storage spaces while aiming to retain the industrial character of the existing space.
The new interventions are deliberately made to recede to the background and not overshadow the products on display. And in order to allow daylight to come in through the windows from both sides of the elongated space, a conscious decision is made to not have any partitions within the space.
The solution is a series of plywood boxes in various sizes, littered around the space, functioning both as display tables and storage. Pegboard panels line one side of the space for the display of artwork. A ceiling feature is also created using cable trays to allow for lights and objects to be easily hung and repositioned.
