AM Apartment

A compact one-bedroom apartment in a new-build development with run-of-the-mill fittings and finishes, is turned into one with living spaces that are rich in tactile qualities and the utility of the space maximized. A dark blue stained wood veneer wall, with brass details, bisects the apartment into two parts, the the more open living room and kitchen area, and the the more private bedroom and bathroom. Rows of open shelving wraps around the top of the living room and kitchen, drawing the eye up to the height of the space. The light grey tiled wall on the other side acts as a counterpoint to the dark blue veneer wall. Both the living room and the bedroom opens out to the landscaped area outside with ample daylight flooding in. The bathroom, in contrast, is darker in palette with the walls clad in black marble and hexagon tiles.
