Adelphi & Co.

Adelphi & Co. is a cafe located outside the city centre of Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia. Set in an intermediate shop lot in a neighbourhood with an eclectic mix of residential and commercial uses, the cafe is conceived as an oasis within the hustle and bustle of the urban environment, a place of respite where the community gathers. A primary palette of natural woods sets the tone for the ambience, accented with harder materials like cement, brass and mild steel. A sculptural green-stained veneer wall stretches the length of the cafe, forming an unifying element that leads the eye through the whole space as one enters, creating a sense of spaciousness within the narrow shop space.
