Standing Sushi Bar II
The design of this new branch of Standing Sushi Bar is a playful interpretation of a Japanese restaurant with a palette of oak, terracotta, dusty blue, coral and brick red, brought together with a signature ceiling feature that runs thoughout the restaurant space. Consisting of a cluster of semi-circular panels, it is a play on the restuarant's logo, and also evocative of the forms of buoys or the underside of fishing boats floating at sea. The ceiling feature forms a strong visual element that gives the restaurant a distinct identity that is visible and recognizable from the various approaches a customer might take towards the restaurant. A textured terracotta tile was specially chosen to reflect the circular geometry of the ceiling feature and also to add visual texture and emphasis to the bar counter.
