Alchemist Asakusa

Located off the main street at Asakusa, the space of this Alchemist store unfolds as an abstract landscape of material and light. A series of suspended textured resin panels drifts overhead with light filtering through them, creating a floating terrain of stillness. A restrained palette of wood, sand-coloured plastered walls, and stainless steel sets a calm, grounded tone. The fixtures, like the coffee counter and seating benches, are conceived as an assembly of wooden blocks, with the edges rounded to suggest the contours of worn stone and earth. On the ground floor, the seating area is sunken to evoke the sensation of moving through a terrain. On the upper floor, the seating is arranged in a way that orients guests to engage differently with the interior of the space and the surroundings through the glass façade, depending on where they sit, breaking the boundary between the inside and outside.
