Clipper Tea Jewel Changi
The Clipper Tea store at Jewel Changi reimagines the ritual of tea for the modern traveller, drawing from the heritage of tea drinking and the joy and modernity of travelling to create a space for pause and replenishment. Anchored by a soaring façade clad in a grid of tea sacks, the store experience unfolds in two parts, a retail alcove and a tea bar.
The tea bar sits in the open area, bathed in natural daylight, and highlighted with a blue roof that runs along the periphery of the bar. The clean lines of the counter are finished in stainless steel, wood and handmade tiles, giving a soft modern edge. The theatre of tea-making is placed at the forefront, inviting guests to gather around and witness the craft. Seating, looking towards the tea bar, is designed as if perched upon stacked tea sacks, a further nod to the brand’s deep connection with the process of tea making and production. In the retail area, curved wooden shelves, displaying a plethora of teas and wares, are set against a contrast of soft textured plaster and sleek stainless steel.
The result is a spatial narrative that bridges heritage and modernity, a space that is both a destination and fulfilling punctuation in the traveller’s journey.
