The space at this retail store for Bottles & Bottles, a major wines and spirits retailer in Singapore, is designed to invoke the experience of entering a wine cellar, where shelves carrying an array of bottles line the space wall to wall enveloping the visitor as she/he walks in; with the space finished in a palette of earthy terracotta and wood tones, accented with a brass ring pendent and a custom-designed gate closure. A U-shaped counter is situated in the middle of the shop functioning simultaneously as a tasting counter, sales counter, and display area, allowing for a flexible and dynamic use of the space, and putting the human connection between the visitor and the shop staff at the centre of the shop experience.
