Benjamin Barker Funan
The design for the Benjamin Barker store at Funan is inspired by a classic men’s haberdashery, with a patchwork of racking, shelves and cabinets displaying an array of men’s suiting, casual wear, shoes and accessories. The palette consists of deep wood tones, brass, fluted glass, on a base of royal blue that is carried through the panelling on the walls and the Venetian plaster around the entrance. The shop space is divided into 2 sections (one for formal wear and one for casual wear), centred around a core consisting of the cashier counter, fitting rooms and store room. The two sections are connected at the front of the cashier and also through the fitting corridor at the back allowing for a good flow around the shop. The centre core also allows for increased wall surfaces and opportunities for more varied options for visual merchandising, in addition to the wall and floor racks and glass display cabinets, to create a shopping experience that is fun and not monotonous.
